Surfaces à-la-carte To seal, oil or wax? This is much less an ecological matter than a decision taken on individual priorities and preferences. But do keep in mind that you can decide to use water based sealants, oils or waxes from several manufacturers.		Either oiling / waxing - Makes the wood’s appearance livelier. - Usually gives a dull effect. - Makes the refurbishment of local problem spots, such as door marks, simple. - Requires somewhat more cleaning attentioan.
Or sealing - Gives a silk-matt or shiny surface - More resistant to dirt because of the closed lacquer layer, is hygienic and very simple to clean. - Higher sensibility for scratches than oiled floors. - Renovation (sanding and re-sealing) has to be done over the whole floor surface.
