Herringbone for a new indoor feel
Nuovi Studio has completely redesigned a 5.5-room maisonette apartment in St. Gallen, giving a new spatial arrangement to both of its floors. Unopark in Oak Avorio supports the new open character of the residence with a light wooden tone. Installed in a classic herringbone pattern, the parquet brings a familiar geometry into the contemporary interpretation of the interior.
The light colour of the wood and Unopark’s classic herringbone give the floor a subtle graphic presence, becoming a connecting element that runs through the rooms.
The renovation involved a reimagining of the way the floors can be accessed. A spiral staircase leaves more space for the open-plan kitchen and restructures the connection between the different levels of the apartment. This way, the living area can present itself as more spacious, with greater clarity in the maisonette’s access routes.
Unopark Oak Avorio combines the classic herringbone geometry with the light-coloured look of the wood. Its calm grading and the natural oiled, slightly brushed surface highlight the fine character of the oak and work in harmony with the warm colours of the interiors that change from room to room.
