A data science company has moved into its new workspace beneath the roof of Berlin’s former Central Telegraph Office. The De Winder Architekten firm from Berlin has developed a highly diverse arrangement of rooms to suit the idiosyncratic geometry of the existing structures. The Formpark 520 and 780 parquet floor in Oak Nature accompanies this approach by adding distinctive lines.
With alternating lengths and clear lines, Formpark Oak Nature sets a warm, lively base tone that unifies the spacious attic floor.
Slanted surfaces, dormers and different ceiling heights set the rhythm for structuring the space. Natural light floods the workspaces, whilst enclosed areas provide a sense of tranquillity indoors. Light-coloured wooden fixtures frame the passageways and lead the way through the space, always keeping Berlin in sight.
In the extensive attic floor, Formpark 520 and 780 play off against each other with their different proportions. The planks made in formats with 2:1 and 3:1 ratios are sometimes arranged in parallel, sometimes orthogonally. This results in a floor that has a remarkably expressive appearance, connecting the working areas and creating smooth transitions.
