Residential
Detached house Lake Geneva
A residential jewel on Lake Geneva
Nestled among lush pastures and meadows at the foot of the Rochers de Naye, with a breathtaking view of the surrounding mountain ranges and Lake Geneva, the panorama that unfolds from the freshly renovated home across the gently rising Vaud Prealps is like a painting. In this landscape so richly favoured by nature, the two-storey building, thoroughly renovated by Graber & Petter Architectes, blends in with quiet sensitivity.
The breathtaking view of Lake Geneva and the Swiss Alps was not enough for the residents of this single-family home: they wanted to bring a “modern, simple, yet cosy ambience in a Scandinavian style” into the typical 1970s architecture.
The 198-square-metre living space achieved the desired Nordic character not only through white surfaces but above all through the consistent use of light wood, as (built-in) furniture, window reveals and oak parquet floors significantly shape the light-filled spatial impression.
One thing is clear: every renovation project brings its own challenges due to the differing conditions of each space, yet regardless of the starting point, Bauwerk Parkett always offers a precise solution, as these real-wood floors can be installed without difficulty on existing surfaces after appropriate treatment or preparation of the subfloor, and thanks to their low installation height, no valuable ceiling height is lost.
