Maisonette Zurich
Under the roof, above the city
Studio Hofmatt has designed the interior of a maisonette apartment on Bahnhofstrasse, Zurich, characterised by clean lines and carefully coordinated materials. Formpark in Oak Avorio links the two levels of the apartment, while differing alignment of the planks gives independent structure to its spaces. The light tone of the wood supplements the interior’s reserved colour palette.
The laying pattern of the Formpark planks divides the surfaces and, thanks to their graphical arrangement, brings a sense of dynamism and movement to the rooms.
A spiral staircase connects the two floors, functioning as a sculptural highlight within the space. The Oak Avorio parquet continues on the steps of the staircase and carries the warm tone of the wood from one level to the other. In this way, the staircase becomes part of the material concept and blends seamlessly into the design of the maisonette.

Formpark 520 and 780 are based on two plank formats that have different dimensional proportions. Arranged parallel and perpendicular to one another, they create a dynamic interplay of directions. The calm Oak Avorio and its natural oiled, deep brushed surface add a fine tactile quality and visual warmth to the floor.
